About Stage 1 Dance

Paula and Margherita Osellame, a mother and daughter team, are proud to be the owners of Stage 1. Stage 1 (originally Chiasson Dance Centre) was founded by Deanne Chiasson, who taught dance in Port Coquitlam for over 30 years. Her son Brad joined her and for the past 25 years they taught together in the Poco area. In 1999 they founded Stage 1 Centre for the Performing Arts Inc. As of 2007, Stage 1 Centre for the Performing Arts became Stage 1 Dance Centre Inc. with Paula and Margherita as the new owners.

Having been involved with the studio for over 20 years, Paula as a student and teacher and Margherita as the ever important dance mom, when the opportunity arouse to become owners and directors it was just seemed like a natural and perfect fit.

They, as well as the rest of their faculty, are pleased to be able to offer their many years as dance and performing arts professionals to local families.

The Centre has distinguished itself through the work of its qualified, experienced and dedicated staff in performances and competitions all over North America. Dancers have performed from New York to Los Angeles and all around British Columbia. Many former students have gone on to professional careers both performing and teaching dance.

We have wonderful facilities, with enthusiastic, outstanding and hardworking students, as well as caring and supportive parents. Combine that with dedicated, experienced and qualified instructors who will work towards developing the capabilities and the full potential of your child, and you have a winning situation.

We at Stage 1 believe in giving the best possible foundation in dance and in developing each student's potential to help them go forward in life with confidence and the sense of self discipline required to achieve success in today's world.
